First Game of Fall

I'm back.
It has been one crazy insane month.  Inservice, back to school crazy, the first day of school and the first game of fall.  Hard to believe that our first game is behind us!

The week leading up to game day was probably the most difficult for me as a wife.  Coach Husband wasn't able to make it home before I was asleep until Wednesday night, his freshman played in Austin Thursday & he came home around one in the morning.  Since he is up and gone before 5:15 most mornings to work out it was a solid 72 hours without seeing my favorite guy.  The back to school stress and exhaustion magnified my feelings and I cried a little Wednesday afternoon before he got home.

A long week though was totally worth it Friday night though!  Not only did we come out on the winners side of the scoreboard 48-22 we played a complete game in all three phases!  On top of that we watched a player that holds a special place in our hearts have an incredible game as a varsity player.  Three touchdown and a stiff arm that is going to be one of legends had me screaming so loud my voice is still raspy.

Kickoff was scheduled for  7:30 but a random thunderstorm and lots of lightening pushed us back to 8:15.  I waited out the storm hunkered down at Karen's house with her boys and when we got to the stadium I had a great surprise waiting for me!  One of my favorite people was at the game with our good friend Jamie.  Miller stayed and cheered for the first half and it was so fun to hang out outside of school!! I also ran into one of my littles from last year whose grandmother was being recognized at halftime.  So many people that make my heart happy in one place.

The best part of the night though was when the clock had ticked down and Coach Husband came out of the box and met me on the field.  I love celebrating wins with him.  I always get a hug, kiss and picture.  He's my favorite y'all and I am so blessed to do life alongside of him.

Now it's on to Week 2,

the Fridays: No. 6

one--  Somehow our city has yet to jump on the city swimming pool train.  CH surprised me with a season pass to the local water park for the summer & I enjoyed a couple of days laying out in the sunshine this week.  I was able to knock three books off my to-read list while I was there as well.  Made this book lover's heart so happy.

two-- Anyone else been introduced to LuLaRoe?  A friend of mine has gotten me HOOKED on the Amelia Dresses.  I am now the proud owner of two with every intention of stopping there.

three-- Coach & I have begun our Total Money Makeover following Dave Ramsey's 7 Baby Steps to financial freedom.  You can read all about the beginning of our journey here.

four-- Thursdays during the summertime mean 7 on 7 football in our lives.  Yesterday was my first 7 on 7 to attend and I am so glad I did!  I was able to get some steps in while watching my hubby do his thing.

five-- In this #coachswifelife you meet some incredible women.  Thanks to the Married to the Game Podcast I was introduced to Lauren, who is the author behind The Simply Southern.  We quickly realized that if we lived in the same city we would probably be joined at the hip & I have been so blessed by her over the last few weeks.  We are planning on a day trip to the other's respective towns this summer and I am so excited for us to be "in the flesh" friends after that!

Till Next Time Y'all,

the Fridays: No. 4

one-- Coach Husband took me to prom this past weekend y'all!  We chaperoned prom had a fabulous time watching our players & their dates live it up on the dance floor.  I loved renting a dress once again from Rent the Runway & going out with my favorite date.

two--  The first annual Girls Weekend Trip is officially booked & planned!  Two of my favorite blonde teacher friends & I are headed to Austin for a weekend of food, shopping & some girl time.  It only took three coffes, five pieces of technology and two hours to come up with a final destiantion and booking.  Our plan is to make this a yearly occurrence and have already started throwing around ideas for next years trip.  #helpingtokeepaustinweird #girlsweekendaway

three-- My Emily Ley Planner & journal came in this week!  I am so sad I have to wait until August to start officially using it.
four-- I went to the 254 Creative last night with my good friend Tamara.  We had a blast learning the basic of hand-lettering. It was surprisingly a way for me to decompress and de-stress.  While I do not foresee myself busting out some hand lettered prints any time soon it will be a fun thing to indulge in for a little "me" time.

five-- Only SEVEN school day wake-ups left until sweet summertime.  I am repeating this little saying each morning as motivation to get up and conquer.
